Four Tales of Love - Documentaire - Égypte

I am an Egyptian filmmaker, scriptwriter, and production coordinator currently based in Cairo. My filmmaking journey is driven by a deep passion for telling intimate, character-driven stories that explore themes of identity, alienation, love, and family within the context of contemporary Arab society. Whether in fiction or documentary, I am drawn to narratives that unfold within confined spaces—both physical and emotional—seeking to capture the complex inner lives of individuals living on the margins. I have written and directed several short films, including Chicken Man (2015), Batman’s Personal Issues (2019), and Ismail (2023). My latest short fiction film, Enough, received a production grant from the Arab Fund for Arts and Culture (AFAC) and is currently in production. I am also developing a deeply personal and ambitious new project titled Four Tales of Love—a film that reflects on love, inspired by the real-life stories of my four sisters and my own emotional experiences at the age of 31. The project blends fiction and reality, with a focus on emotional honesty, intimacy, and the distinct urban rhythm of Cairo. I currently work as a production coordinator at Rahala Production & Distribution, where I collaborate on independent films and cultural initiatives. Alongside this, I continue to write and develop my own work, often in close collaboration with other artists and writers. I am currently co-writing my upcoming film with screenwriter Mona El-Shimi, with whom I meet weekly in a creative and nurturing environment.
