Altidor Gildas DOSSOU is a Beninese filmmaker born on January 22 1996 in Lokossa, Benin. After obtaining his Baccalauréat in 2015, he began studies in journalism at the Ecole Nationale des Sciences et Techniques de l’Information et de la Communication, ENSTIC at the University of Abomey-Calavi in Benin, before moving on to cinema at the same school.
In 2017, he directed his very first documentary film: Xwlakô, trésor d’un sol, a multi-award-winning film at several festivals. He then school films (Ni lui, ni moi ; Art’iste ; Elegbara, la butte sacrée; Tumeur; Le gong a résonné), which not only which not only earned him several festival selections, including two successive editions of FESPACO.
In 2023, Gildas directed AU FIL DU TEMPS, his first professional fiction film.
